The Healthcare International Industry Group (HIIG) is a special interest group within the Digital Health Association (DHA), representing digital health companies and organisations involved in the import and export of health technologies and services. The group also serves those looking to expand into international markets, offering a platform for industry collaboration, peer learning, and strategic advice.
As Co-Chair of the HIIG, our CEO Gavin, sees our core mission as twofold: to actively support our members in their global growth journeys and to ensure that New Zealand’s digital health innovations are visible and valued on the world stage. This includes profiling our technology and solutions to a broad audience of healthcare providers, government bodies, and sector leaders.
Examples of this type of valuable engagement included not only the DHF as noted in this newsletter, but in early may the HIIG hosted the European Union Ambassador to New Zealand H.E. Lawrence Meredith on an online webinar to discuss the recently signed free trade agreement between Aotearoa New Zealand and the European Union, as well as New Zealand’s association to the research and innovation Horizon Europe programme. It was rewarding to exchange views on strengthening trade and investment ties based on shared values and stable partnerships – especially in the tech and health sectors.
As both a CEO/Founder of a proven digital health company and a long-time sector entrepreneur, Gavin is proud to represent the collective voice of our industry. Being Co-Chair of HIIG enables him to amplify the success stories coming out of New Zealand; stories that demonstrate real impact in improving care outcomes, both at home and abroad.
